Jim VanHerwynen was born and raised in the Fox Valley area. At sixteen Jim knew he wanted to pursue a career in golf course management.

Jim earned an Associate Degree in science at the UW-Fox Valley and then received a Bachelors Degree in Soil Science specializing in Turfgrass Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his stay in Madison he worked at Blackhawk Country Club. After graduating he became the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Kenosha Country Club and remained there for six years.

Jim was then hired at South Hills Golf & Country Club in February 1996 as Golf Course Superintendent. In 2001 he became one of approximately 3,000 superintendents around the world to be certified. We, at South Hills Golf & Country Club, are proud to have Mr. VanHerwynen manage our golf course and provide a challenging and fun round every time.
